Our new director is Mrs. Amy Rolniak

The Westlake High School Choral Music Department is pleased to welcome our new director,

Mrs. Amy Rolniak as we begin the 2017-2018 school year.

A message from Mrs. Rolniak

Hello Westlake High School Choral Music Department Family!

What a true honor and blessing it is to be able to introduce myself as the next Director of Choral Music at Westlake High School.  Mr. Rose has spent countless hours throughout his career making this department into what it is today, and I am humbled to be trusted with this prestigious program. This gift does not just consist of the current and future students of this program, but also the opportunity to honor his legacy.  It includes alumni, former parents, the community, and everyone who has been touched by the choral music department at Westlake High School.  I hope that you will all have a chance to stop by and introduce yourselves, as I would love to hear how much this program has meant to you.  It is my wish that you will continue to feel like a part of this family and together we can support and cultivate the legacy that Mr. Rose has left us.  I hope you all are as exited about the future of this program as I am to be a part of it.

About Mrs. Rolniak

Amy Rolniak earned her Bachelor of Music with a teaching certificate from the University of Iowa and her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Arizona.

At both universities she was active as an opera singer and sang in the top choral ensembles with the best conductors in the field.

She has been teaching Middle and High School Choruses for over 15 years, most recently at CHAMPS Charter High School of the Arts in Van Nuys, California.

There she conducted numerous choral ensembles, got unanimous superior ratings at SCVA choral festivals, and was the vocal director for the musical theater productions.

She brings to Westlake High School an extensive background in vocal technique, a strong knowledge of choral literature of all genres, and a commitment to students and their growth and happiness.

Above all else she loves being a teacher, and believes there is no greater experience than singing music together.
